This was a gas WH. The pipe was cut out and a steel bowl was welded the former top.
This was inside the 50gal tank, mighta gained a couple gallons more.
Bottom view
The top is wide open. The highth is under 5' tall. 16.5"-+ diameter.

IR ARO 1" Diaphram Pump
Gotten for free, but didnt work.....at first.
It works fine now. It just needed a good cleaning and reassembly. _________________ 1996 K2500 6.5TD |

As of right now, it is a complete Appleseed, but with a open top- wich used to be the bottom of the gas WH.
The total volume is 50 gallons. This will be fine for my 35 gallon goal.
Maybe 40 gallons?
Insulation
The top 16" is doubled up on insulation in the head space.
It has 2 heat elements and one thermostat.
The 4500 watt element will be 240V thru the thermostat.
The 2500 watt will be 120V full hot to boost the heat up time.
To mount the thermostat, I pulled he aluminum backing plate off and tacked it thru a hole to the thank. It's on there quite solid.
The feed into the tank drops in from the center, and can take different nozels @ 3/4" thread.
I was planning to just make a flat top with a slip over brim, and insulate it.
It would lose methanol vapors, so I'd process with 22% meth.
I got impatient on waiting for a second tank to butt weld a mirror end on top.
I've been dewatering and filtering to 5 microns with it. I think it could be do-all processor. From dewatering to water washing. Tho I do have 2 new white poly drums for wash & drying. But now I'm kicking around the idea of Ion exchange bead washing.
I'm open to any ideas or sugestions.

My main oil source;
I get 4 35lb jugs a week fron them. This oil titrates @ .9 to 1.1 NaOH.
I'm very pleased about that.

Looks like all you need is a lid! Looks good!
PS: Do you have a HMMWV, or are you building a Tremor or Urban Gorilla or something else? |

More collected stuff;
This is my fuel polosher. 5 micron bag filters. It's tall, I think it's from a pool system.
This strainer bag fits on the opening of an IBC tote, I'm pushing cold upflow from a 55 gal into the tote and thru this.
I have six of them. They are washable. I have six others that are a little corser than window screen.

| YES! A board for a lid! To make it safe you will need a cinder block on top. |

Superburban,
theres actually a piece of sheetmetal ontop of the wood.
When I get the plumbing and flow worked out, I will close and vent the top.

Fixed the plumbing to a straight shot.
Got much better pressure.
Used close nipples where I could to make the line shorter.
Just needing Methanol, now.
