The Canoe Paddle Processor.

We process, wash and dry biodiesel in this.

The oil is heated by the sun or an electric band heater when the sun is not out.

We mix the methanol and KOH in carboys then pour it into the top 2" bung hole then screw in the mixing stick.

Mixing is then done by hand.

Mixing can be back and forth, left and right or in a circular motion.

I do a combo of all three.

Processing can be done at 150F so not alot of mixing is needed to process biodiesel. 10 to 15 mins mixing during a 1 hour period will do the job !

neutral, a PHD and infopop member shared this mixing info with us.

This was an old pop up camper frame. Other small trailers can be used.

Mounting it on a trailer allows moving it around to catch the sun and also allows tipping the 55 gallon drum for draining the soap, glycerin and wash water.

The taps are pieces of 1" pipe welded to 55 gallon drum.

The one on the right is on the very bottom on the side of the drum to allow for complete draining when the drum is tilted.

The tap on the left is a few inches up on the side. I use this to drain the finished biodiesel and to take test samples during the process.

This is the drain on the rear. It is on the bottom side and will allow for complete draining when the drum iis tilted.

I use this for draining finished biodiesel.

Three taps are not needed. You really just need one.

There is also a thermostat mounted on the bottom.

Smile The mixing stick is a 48 inch post hole digger replacement handle from Lowe's.

The boot is a CV joint boot, right side, inside boot for a 90's model Saturn. I got it at Advance Auto Parts.

The PVC piece is a 2" male adaptor from Lowe's.

The mixer screws into the 2" bung in the lid.

I added a vent to the side but you could use the 3/4" bung hole in the drum lid for the vent pipe.
