The following series of 5 photos were taken to document the presence of a soap skin that formed on the surface of unwashed biodiesel. The soap formed late in the reaction due to evaporation of methanol.
The first photo shows the skin on settled BD. The second shows the soap skin as it was being collected. The third photo follows the second and shows the removed skin. The forth shows the skin being placed in a small dish. And the the fifth shows the top of the BD where the skin has reformed and removal of the "second skin" has begun.
All photos were taken of the same batch and all were taken sequentially as listed here. All photos were taken in about a five minute time frame.
